Dr Sanjiv K VIJ FCICM, EDIC, DNB, DA, MBBS
Sanjiv is a senior specialist in Intensive Care at Monash Health, Dandenong Intensive Care Unit. Whilst consistently delivering excellent clinical outcomes in critically ill patients, Sanjiv is actively involved in multiple fields such as training and education; research, quality and governance.
Sanjiv has a keen interest for ‘Critical Care Imaging’ with both; echocardiography and ultrasound. He wishes to explore mechanisms to minimise errors in clinical applications of 'Critical Care Imaging'. His other areas of interest are pain and airway management in critical care. He is the lead clinician for Dandenong ICU Echocardiography Collaborative. He is also a member of Echocardiography SIG of [CICM] College of Intensive Care Medicine. Sanjiv has contributed internationally as an Echocadiography trainer in ISCCM workshops.
Sanjiv holds the Research portfolio in Dandenong ICU as the site investigator for ANZICS-CTG. He is a member of ‘Monash Health Resuscitation Committee’. Sanjiv is currently a member of the Victorian Regional Committee of CICM and has served as its recent deputy chair. He is also a member of VICNISS advisory committee. Sanjiv continues to educate at both; post graduate and under graduate levels for Monash Medical School throughout Monash Health.
Ms Janette POWER BSc, DMU, AMS
Janette is Principal Echocardiographer at the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH), Tasmania. She has been working as a cardiac technologist in the field of echocardiography since 1991 and is an accredited medical sonographer with DMU II (Cardiac), 1995. Janette has worked across Australia and in the UK and been involved in clinical and research echocardiography and is currently on the faculty of Echo Australis which aims to teach advanced echocardiography interpretative skills to Cardiology Trainees.
Janette has extensive experience training echocardiographers and has also been involved in training Intensivists and Anaesthetists in echocardiography over the past 10 years, both at Monash Medical Centre and the RHH.
Ms Lesley DONELAN AMS, DMU
Lesley is an accredited medical sonographer who has worked in the field of cardiology for many years. She is involved in research at MonashHeart and also has a position at Melbourne University assisting with courses to train medical staff in echocardiography.
Ms Jacqui WILLIAMSON BSc, DMU, AMS
Jacqui is a senior echocardiographer who completed her training as a cardiac technologist at Monash Medical Centre (now MonashHeart). Since then she has held many senior roles in both public and private hospital settings including acting Chief Cardiac Technologist at Box Hill Hospital (Eastern Health).
Jacqui’s passion for education and training in echo lead to the development of a DMU preparation course for Cardiac candidates and in 2001 Cardiac Concepts was born. Jacqui has provided training to other technologists through Mayfield Education Centre’s certificate program in Cardiac Technology and was instrumental in the development of an undergraduate program for Cardiac Technologists at Swinburne University of Technology and was the chair of the course advisory committee.
Jacqui is the director of Cardiac Concepts and works closely with industry representatives to produce and deliver quality training programs suited to both medical staff and sonographers. She is a DMU examiner and continues to provide training and supervision for trainee sonographers and medical staff through her programs at Cardiac Concepts. She also maintains her hands-on skills by performing echo and stress echo tests at outpatient clinics at Carnegie as well as in some regional centres.
